About The Position

Assists Director of Retail with Tennis Pro Shop operations and assists Director of Tennis with Tennis/Pickleball operations. Provides outstanding service to meet the needs of members and their guests. This job description includes, but is not limited to, the duties and responsibilities described above. Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and /or ability required.
  • Excellent computer skills required
  • H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability to stand up extended periods of time up to 8 hours.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • GED or High School diploma preferred
  • Additionally, must have knowledge of computer functions and a working knowledge of the following software programs, Tournament, Handicap, Retail, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, along with developing skills in our graphics software as well.

  • Retail experience preferred
  • Tennis or Retail knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

  • Receive, tag, steam and display merchandise.
  • Process invoices and reconciliation of invoices/statements.
  • Assist with trunk shows and special events.
  • Process manufacturer returns.
  • Examines defective article returned by customer to determine if refund or replacement should be made.
  • Take inventory of stock on a monthly or as needed basis.
  • Requisitions merchandise from stockroom.
  • Estimates quantity of merchandise required to fill customer’s need.
  • Conduct and procure merchandise inventory ensuring accurate stock levels and alignment with inventory objectives.
  • Assist in retail open to buy program supporting strategic purchasing decisions and inventory planning.
  • Prepares daily sales recap for Accounting Dept.
  • Greets customers on sales floor and determines make, type and quality of merchandise desired.
  • Suggest selections that meet customers’ needs and emphasize selling points of article such as quality and utility.
  • Use computer databases to research availability of merchandise.
  • Demonstrates use of merchandise.
  • Wraps and bags merchandise for customers.
  • Has full knowledge of all tennis and pickleball operations. This includes all events: tournaments, mixers, round robins, men’s and ladies league play, exhibitions, etc.
  • Be able to answer member questions pertaining to all events and programming.
  • Update and maintain cleanliness of outside bulletin board area.
  • Promote all upcoming tennis/pickleball events.
  • Responsible for assisting and training Tennis Pro Shop retail staff associates as well as training and assisting Tennis Professionals with Club’s online system.
  • Answers telephone in a polite, professional and timely manner.
  • Always keep shop clean including dressing rooms.
