About The Position

Tennis Program Coordinator Schedule/Hours: Varies Are you a strong organizer, natural leader, and tennis advocate who enjoys building programs, leading staff, and creating great experiences for kids on and off the court? What You'll Do Help plan, deliver, and grow the City of Fort Wayne's Tennis Program. You'll coordinate lessons and events, support instructors, and ensure programs run smoothly from start to finish.

Requirements

  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or equivalent experience
  • One or more years of related experience in recreation, athletics, or youth programming
  • Reliable transportation and valid Indiana Driver's License if using a City vehicle
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with children ages 18 months–12 years
  • Confident problem-solver who can step in when needed
  • Dependable through full program completion

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate tennis lessons, leagues, tournaments, and special events
  • Supervise and support tennis instructors and staff, including scheduling
  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for staff issues and program needs
  • Visit program sites, provide guidance, and support staff during sessions
  • Complete reports, evaluations, and end-of-season summaries while planning for future programs
