About The Position

Creates exceptional customer/member service experiences for the Greenville Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center Tennis Center. Sells and/or verifies memberships through the established sales system; answers questions and sells merchandise; provides information and answers questions about available court schedule, lessons, programs, clinics, etc.; answers the telephone in a courteous manner and directs calls to the appropriate destination; records accurate and complete messages when necessary. Performs routine clerical work such as typing and filing.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School or G.E.D. required.
  • And Six months cashier and /or customer service with knowledge and experience in USTA league play and tennis lesson programs
  • Or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Safe From Harm Certification
  • Blood Borne Pathogens Certification
  • Must have or be able to obtain CPR/First Aide/AED certification within first 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
  • The ability to demonstrate good physical condition and effort associated with walking, running, standing, and moderate-to advanced weightlifting in a fitness center environment including the ability to meet the demands of the gymnasium and athletic field programs.
  • Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.

Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent, prompt, and courteous services for members and perspective members of the Greenville Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center Tennis Center.
  • Gives tours of the Tennis Center by promoting the center and selling memberships and/or lessons; schedules members for lessons, clinics and all tennis programs.
  • Maintains awareness of store merchandise and inventory matters; assists customers with merchandise inquiries, handles cash, makes changes, and operates the established computer software; serves customers, clients and members according to established procedures.
  • Conducts audit of receipts against inventory when deemed necessary by management.
  • Receives and handles telephone calls, visitors, and emails in a friendly and professional manner; directs calls to appropriate program/staff in a timely manner; records accurate and complete messages when needed.
  • Maintains progressive knowledge of all leagues, events, and court schedules; listens to members’ goals and preferences and connects them to existing and related solutions.
  • Explains and enforces Tennis Center policies; monitors the behavior of members participating in activities; promotes sportsmanship and behavior appropriate for the activity.
  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the Point of Sale (POS) stations and kiosks.
  • Keeps sales area clean and neatly arranged at all times.
  • Participates in training opportunities to gain a thorough understanding of computer systems, equipment and supplies; maintains and secures equipment in compliance with acceptable standards to ensure the long life of equipment.
  • As requested, assist other staff in the set-up of clinics, leagues, and/or special events; ensures areas are cleaned and equipment is restocked after facility use.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the Clubhouse, including but not limited to daily vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms and maintaining refreshment area during operating hours.
  • Prepares, maintains, and submits statistical reports as required.
