As the community's steward, RA is responsible for maintaining the quality of life in Reston, chiefly by caring for and administering the community's most precious asset, its real property. At RA, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We are actively seeking a Tennis Court Monitor to join our team! The primary function of this position is to monitor all Reston Association tennis courts on a continual basis, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-regulated environment for all members and guests. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of our recreational facilities and providing excellent customer service. The Tennis Court Monitor will be responsible for visiting each tennis facility during their shift, collecting guest fees, checking passes, issuing guest passes, and enforcing court rules and regulations. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in an outdoor setting. This position offers 20 hours per week, from March-November. These hours depend on operational needs and are subject to change.

Requirements

  • Age 18 and up.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exemplary oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Skilled at establishing and maintaining relationships with members and guests.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle and perform basic math for fee collection.
  • A love for working outdoors, comfortable in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and remain active for extended periods, including driving and walking.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all Reston Association tennis courts on a continual basis
  • Ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-regulated environment for all members and guests
  • Visit each tennis facility during their shift
  • Collect guest fees

  • Enforce court rules and regulations
