About The Position

Supportive Housing Services at Father Joe’s Villages plays a critical role in helping individuals and families transition out of homelessness maintain stable housing and improve overall well-being. Through a trauma-informed and client-centered approach, the team provides life skills coaching, community-building opportunities, and connections to essential resources that promote long-term housing stability and self-sufficiency. The Resolution Strategies Initiative focuses on coordination, communication, and problem-solving across departments and external partners to ensure timely, effective responses to program needs and organizational priorities. As a Tenant Services Coordinator, you will support residents in a supportive housing environment by fostering community engagement, promoting life skills development, and connecting tenants to resources that enhance housing stability and overall well-being. This is a non-clinical, tenant-facing role that emphasizes relationship-building, coaching, and coordination of services in a trauma-informed setting.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in social services, human services, or a related field, or a high school diploma/GED with at least one (1) year of experience working with at-risk or underserved populations.
  • Experience supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or similar life challenges.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build respectful, professional relationships with diverse individuals and communities.
  • Basic knowledge of client confidentiality, professional boundaries, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Ability to document services accurately and use basic computer systems for communication and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to meet program and organizational requirements, including background screening and health-related clearances.
  • Some minimum requirements may be met through a combination of professional experience, lived experience, volunteer work, or demonstrated skills relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Support tenants in developing and strengthening daily living skills such as maintaining their living space, accessing transportation, grocery shopping, and navigating community resources.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate wellness-focused activities and events that promote social connection, education, and overall well-being for residents.
  • Engage tenants through one-on-one and group interactions to encourage participation in programming and community activities.
  • Provide non-clinical support and regular wellness check-ins for tenants, particularly those with higher needs, and coordinate with case management staff as appropriate.
  • Connect tenants to community-based resources, including food assistance, employment services, and health and wellness supports.
  • Assist in promoting food security initiatives by coordinating access to food distribution resources and related services.
  • Prepare and distribute communications such as activity calendars, resource materials, and community updates to keep tenants informed and engaged.
  • Document interactions, services, and relevant updates in accordance with program guidelines and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including case managers, property management, and external partners, to support tenant stability and service coordination.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and organizational initiatives to support continuous improvement and service delivery.
  • Complete required trainings and follow organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program and departmental goals.
