This position is a part-time Temporary Student Support (TSS) assignment that runs through March – December with the potential for an extension. This position is hybrid and will require some work onsite. Overall, this role averages 20 hours per week. Hours do not have to be consecutive; they can be spread throughout the week. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Information Systems.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting/visualization tools, including experience building or modifying dashboards.
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts, especially star schema, fact tables, and dimension tables.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to diagnose reporting issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details into user‑friendly explanations.
  • Ability to manage multiple reporting tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Comfort working with data sets, spreadsheets, and basic analytical tasks.
  • Ability to learn new systems, tools, and data structures quickly.
  • Familiarity with SQL or other query languages.
  • Currently a student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program required.
  • Currently, we are not able to hire international students for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of new Power BI reports and dashboards by gathering requirements, preparing data, and building visualizations that meet team needs.
  • Manage enhancements and updates for existing Power BI reports, ensuring accuracy, usability, and alignment with evolving business requirements.
  • Work with data models—including star schema structures, fact tables, and dimension tables—to support scalable and efficient reporting.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to report performance, data refreshes, data accuracy, and user access.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand reporting needs, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to existing analytics.
  • Document reporting processes, data definitions, and dashboard functionality to maintain clear and accessible knowledge resources.
  • Conduct data validation, quality checks, and basic analysis to ensure reliable reporting outputs.
  • Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and cross‑functional projects related to data and reporting initiatives.
