About The Position

The primary purpose of the position is to design and deliver engaging, hands-on science instruction that strengthens elementary and middle school students’ foundational science skills while building confidence and curiosity in science.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Elementary Education, Science, STEM -related field, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience leading hands-on activities, experiments, or project-based learning for elementary/middle school-aged students.
  • Prior experience with STEM camps, science clubs, or enrichment programs.
  • Ability to explain basic science concepts in a fun, age-appropriate, and engaging manner
  • Strong classroom or group management skills in informal learning environments
  • Enthusiasm for inquiry-based learning, creativity, and student exploration
  • Ability to provide and follow safety procedures for hands-on science activities
  • Clear communication skills and a positive, supportive approach to working with students.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years of experience teaching and facilitating learning for students in grades 3-5 or 6–8 in a school, camp, laboratory, or enrichment setting.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with North Carolina Standard Course of Study for Science.
