About The Position

The primary purpose of the position is to design and deliver engaging, hands-on math instruction that strengthens elementary and middle school students’ foundational math skills while building confidence and curiosity in mathematics. Work Hours: Day Camp: Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field.
• Prior experience with STEM summer camps, math clubs, or enrichment programs.
• Ability to design and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate math activities that promote conceptual understanding and problem-solving.
• Strong classroom management skills in a camp or enrichment environment.
• Ability to encourage collaboration, mathematical reasoning, and student confidence.
• Clear communication skills and a positive, supportive approach to working with students.

Nice To Haves

• Three (3) years of experience working with elementary or middle school.
• Demonstrated familiarity with North Carolina Mathematics Standards, particularly foundational skills in number sense, operations, fractions, measurement, and geometry.
• Experience using hands-on, inquiry-based, or project-based learning activities to support math instruction.
