About The Position

George Fox University's Office for Spiritual Life is looking for a Temporary Serve Day Assistant to join their team and serve the George Fox community by supporting the creation, administration and assessment of the annual Serve Day program designed for the spiritual formation of all participants, and particularly the undergraduate community. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Working alongside the University Pastor for Service to coordinate all aspects of Serve Day 2025 (which takes place on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.) Recruiting and communicating with Serve Day Sites, which includes over 100 local non-profits, organizations, churches, and businesses. Assisting with coordinating details for the Serve Day sites, including team assignments, transportation, and supplies for each site. Assisting with the recruitment, communication, and training of university Team Leaders. Working alongside Residence Life as well as other campus affinity groups (academic departments or athletic teams) to prepare groups of students for Serve Day. Assisting with other elements of programming, such as Serve Day Kick-Off, Serve Day Celebration, T-shirt orders, Serve Day chapel, Church Fair, etc. Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service. By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role. Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people. We're looking for candidates who have: An understanding and support of the mission, vision and values of George Fox University. The availability to commit to working 10-15 hours per week from April 26th through September 26th on associate projects (especially at the end of August and in the early weeks of the Fall Semester) and any other Faith & Culture events as requested. The ability to manage a number of different tasks concurrently and maintain excellent organization. A detail-oriented nature and familiarity with the Google Docs suite (sheets, surveys, etc.) along with strong computer skills. The capacity to work well in a team setting and independently, with a strong emphasis on precision and inclusion. The innate ability to respond positively to emergency situations and to work cooperatively with other departments. A clean driving record along with the ability to provide proof of a valid driver's license and pass the University Driver Certification. Legal authorization to work in the United States.
