We’re unapologetically ambitious! We are looking for a Temporary Senior Data Strategist to join Translation! Please note that this role demands four days in office and one day remote. This role is based in Brooklyn, New York with four days in-office and one day remote.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
  • Experience with social and audience intelligence tools (e.g., Brandwatch, GWI, Meta Creator Studio)
  • Working knowledge of the media landscape and channel effectiveness
  • Understanding of database structures, data quality practices, and system maintenance
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and proactively drive projects forward
  • Thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments
  • 4+ years of experience in digital media analytics, insights, or marketing science
  • Proven ability to analyze datasets and develop actionable insights
  • Experience evaluating creative and campaign performance against audience data
  • Experience identifying KPIs and measuring marketing effectiveness
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Curiosity and passion for understanding consumer behavior and culture
  • Experience working with media performance and analytics platforms

Nice To Haves

  • Data visualization experience (preferred but not required)
  • Experience developing and programming surveys or questionnaires
  • Experience presenting findings to clients or senior stakeholders
  • Creative thinking in data collection, manipulation, and application
  • Track record of cross-functional collaboration (strategy, media/sales, creative)
  • Experience conducting ethnographies or qualitative consumer research
  • Demonstrated cultural fluency and experience generating insights that authentically reflect African American consumer behaviors, values, and cultural influence

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery and analysis phases across projects to define questions and opportunities
  • Proactively identifies datasets and tools to answer complex business/creative problems
  • Evaluate data sources for credibility, methodological rigor, and strategic relevance
  • Lead development of on-going marketing performance reports
  • Go beyond surface data to uncover patterns, tensions, and behaviors that inform strategy
  • Develop and execute measurement plans and learning agendas across initiatives
  • Define KPIs and success metrics aligned to business objectives
  • Lead ongoing marketing performance reporting and dashboard development
  • Ask questions and posit understanding to aid in creative ideation, research, and reporting
  • Assess campaign effectiveness to optimize content, engagement, and brand growth
  • Design surveys and methodologies for primary research assignments
  • Crafts narratives that reveal “why it matters”
  • Elevates collective understanding of data for audiences both internally and externally
  • Ability to translate raw data into human, cultural, and brand insights
