This role supports campus math instruction by working alongside teachers and teams to strengthen planning, instruction, and student learning. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certification – Secondary Mathematics
  • Extensive knowledge of TEKS and current curriculum in mathematics
  • Extensive knowledge of instructional strategies and their impact on student achievement
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build capacity of teams in need of support
  • Ability to quickly build effective relationships with various stakeholders
  • Comprehensive skills in the areas of coaching and collaborative planning
  • Minimum three years of secondary teaching experience
  • Maintain emotional control under stress; flexibility to meet the needs of the teaching staff on the campus.
  • Duties are physically demanding, including moving between rooms, moving small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.

  • Experience with teacher and teacher team leadership responsibilities preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support campus math instruction by working alongside teachers and teams to strengthen planning, instruction, and student learning.
  • Pull and support small groups of students.
  • Provide short in-class support/mini-teaching in targeted classrooms.
  • Collaborate with teachers to revamp or refine lessons.
  • Collaborate with teachers to complete assigned instructional tasks identified by the instructional coach (ex: creating activities, building assessments, revising lessons, etc.).
  • Help coordinate and support planning structures, such as PLC support, intervention planning, scheduling, and follow-up actions.
  • Focus on supporting warriors' planning.
  • Co-teach with teachers.
  • Conduct learning walks to monitor implementation of instructional plan.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
