About The Position

We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's student body as a Temporary Full-Time Lecturer OYA beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year. Ability to teach health informatics coursework in the online setting, completion of UTRGV's required online teaching training, and the ability to hold online office hours/provide student support are required. Requirements

  • A doctoral or master's degree in a health profession, public health, health science, healthcare informatics, or healthcare administration. A master's degree in another health field/profession appropriate for the course subject matter may be considered. Applicants with a master's degree must have 3 years' work experience or one peer-reviewed, scholarly publication in the field.
  • One year of experience teaching public health, health science professions/disciplines, healthcare informatics, or healthcare administration courses.
  • Credentialing in healthcare informatics or a closely related discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as proficiency in technology, are required.
  • Online teaching experience in healthcare informatics-related coursework preferred, along with Quality Matters APPQMR certification.
