Human Development and Family Sciences in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Delaware invites applications for a Temporary Faculty position in Early Childhood Education (ECE) to begin Fall 2026. We seek an energetic, highly motivated, and experienced professional who will serve as a role model and mentor for undergraduate and graduate Early Childhood Education students. As a temporary 9-month faculty member, the successful candidate will primarily teach undergraduate AA and BS early childhood courses. This is a 9-month full-time appointment beginning September 1, 2026. About the College of Education and Human Development and the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences. The College of Education and Human Development is dedicated to addressing the problems that confront our communities, schools, and organizations, and to developing solutions to the challenges faced by children, youth, families, and employees around the world. The College supports numerous research-practice-policy partnerships and collaborations with human service organizations, early care providers, schools, and school districts. The HDFS department has 22 full-time faculty members and houses nearly 450 undergraduate students across three majors (Human Relations Administration, Human Services, and Early Childhood Education) and two minors (Human Development & Family Sciences and Medical Social Services). The Department also supports graduate programs at both the master’s and doctoral levels. HDFS is an interdisciplinary department that focuses on the study of critical social issues affecting individuals, families, and communities, along with disabilities, teacher education, and professional development. Departmental faculty are engaged in research activities that span child and youth development, early childhood and early intervention, family services and policy, and social determinants of health.
