The Building Energy Analyst helps improve campus building energy performance through detailed analysis of electrical and thermal (BTU) meter data, SkySpark analytics, and Building Automation System (BAS) data. This role compares real-world building performance against Investment Grade Audit (IGA) findings and national energy benchmarks to identify actionable energy-efficiency opportunities. Working closely with BYU’s Air Conditioning Shop, the Analyst helps identify HVAC systems and operational strategies that can be optimized to reduce energy costs, improve system reliability, and ensure buildings provide consistent and effective space conditioning. In addition, this position will support our metering and analytics program by assisting the student lead responsible for the BAS analytics database. Responsibilities include database-driven data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting to support ongoing energy management and performance improvement initiatives.
