About The Position

The purpose of this position is to fill a temporary job assignment in any department. The assignment is expected to have an anticipated end date, generally less than 12 months from the start date. Temp workers may be assigned to any position in any department. The specific competencies, critical functions and qualifications will vary according to the necessary requirements for each particular temporary assignment. Some “usual” competencies and critical functions are outlined below. Provides support to media production teams. Audio specialists play a role in university-wide broadcasts, recordings, and other departmental media production requests. This will include studio and on-set audio setup and recording. Prior experience working with audio equipment and software is preferred.

Requirements

  • High School
  • Two years of audio experience.
  • Prior experience working with audio equipment and software is needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assists producers, writers, directors, and project managers with the details of audio usage in a media spot.
  • Help create the training/onboarding for new audio hires
  • Basic office support as needed
  • Setting scenery as directed
  • Assist with lights, sound, special effects, construction, and similar technical activities
  • Prepare for and clean up after productions
  • Obtains technical understanding of ProTools, signal flow, equipment, and microphone usage.
  • Initiative and project-based job position.
  • Communicates with management and team leads via project management software.
  • Communicates with University and department clients.
  • Assists with foley, sound design, mixing, special effects, and similar technical activities.
  • Basic office support as needed.
  • Prepare for and clean up after productions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
