About The Position

Moraine Park Technical College is currently seeking a Temporary Assistant - Information Technology for the Summer of 2026. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our dynamic team at the West Bend campus. Join us in providing essential IT support and services to our MPTC staff! Applications will be accepted until the position is filled; however, initial review of applicants will take place April 10, 2026 Pay rate: $27.48/hourly Starting: May 26, 2026 Ending: August 21, 2026 Hours/Schedule : Varies - up to 15 hours per week (2 days per week )

Requirements

  • Earned or working toward an Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Must take direction from others and work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and support end-user and College endpoint hardware, such as Dell computers, Apple computers, College printers and MFPs, and classroom technology, including cameras, projectors, and other peripheral equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, configure and support end-user applications, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide end users support to a wide variety of device and operating system types.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently with little supervision and make sound decisions with minimal direction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with end users, colleagues, and management to provide a complete and timely explanation of issues and decisions to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Must have taken or currently be enrolled in MPTC’s Computer Hardware/Software Support courses (154-117 & 154-116) or equivalent courses elsewhere.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
  • Ability to travel to College and external partner locations.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Moraine Park’s technical support staff with hardware and software upgrades in computer labs and on classroom PCs.
  • Unbox and install equipment; accurately update hardware and software inventory records; follow the asset disposal process for equipment being removed for service; apply images to computers and follow documentation to install and/or configure software.
  • Disconnect, move and reinstall equipment due to College construction and remodel projects.
  • Perform field visits on campus to Moraine Park users.
  • Setup, configure and provide support to the college’s audio/video systems.
  • Follow documented processes and technical instructions. Take personal notes as necessary during instruction, to ensure the ability to accurately replicate tasks.
  • Use the Internet to research problems and the solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
