The Teller is responsible for greeting members and potential members, identifying their perceived and unperceived needs and process transactions promptly and accurately. This position promotes quality member service, via the telephone or in person. Utilizes a thorough credit union product knowledge, exceptional cross selling and service skills and a professional demeanor to assist each member. Performs exceptional service, working both independently and as a team. Requirements

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.
  • Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
  • Able to operate a 10-key calculator, typewriter, and computer keyboard.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Greet members and potential members, answer all product and service inquiries and resolves problems within authority.
  • Refers issues beyond their authority to the next level, along with their recommendations.
  • Identifies cross sell opportunities and cross sells services/products beneficial to members in accordance to the credit union’s standards and goals.
  • Performs member transactions, within authority, accurately, efficiently with good audit trail within credit union guidelines and policies
  • Assures that appropriate records are maintained and required reports/tasks processed.
  • Maintains a balanced check run and cash drawer at all times.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • To provide a pleasurable, informative, respectful, convenient, and accurate, experience for the members.
  • Make it as convenient as possible for the member to do business with Climb Credit Union.
  • Use the member's name at least once in every conversation.
  • To support and achieve all individual and departmental sales and service goals.
  • To support all credit union organizational goals and objectives derived from the strategic plan.
  • To master assigned tasks from the Professional Development Program Level B task list for assigned department, and to support rotation and cross-training programs.
  • To maintain a professional work environment and appearance.
  • To participate internal and external educational opportunities.
  • To comply with all published credit union policies, procedures as well as directives in the employee handbook.
  • Offer credit union products and services to meet our members' needs.
  • Educate members and potential members on all SCU products and services to help identify potential needs and cross-sell appropriate products and services.
  • Participate in building a strong teamwork oriented environment.
