Perform a comprehensive range of transactional duties to serve members across all channels-in-person, phone, and digital solutions. Build new member relationships while strengthening existing ones to create an exceptional member experience. Accurately maintain financial records and provide a variety of member savings, share draft/checking and credit account transactions in accordance with credit union policies and procedures. This role requires strong communication skills to effectively engage with prospective and current members, while positively representing the credit union and consistently demonstrating our FIRST values.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous cash handling experience.
  • Previous experience with a credit union highly desirable.
  • Multi-lingual capabilities to include Spanish are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome members to the credit union with a friendly, respectful, and professional approach, providing timely, accurate, and efficient service to ensure a positive experience.
  • Receive and process share drafts, checks, and cash for deposits into member accounts.
  • Verify amounts, ensure proper endorsement, and accurately enter transactions into system records.
  • Provide support with mail and email transactions as needed.
  • Cash share drafts/checks, process withdrawals, and disburse funds after verifying member identification and account balances.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services along with comprehensive knowledge on all related policies, procedures, rules and regulations, including robbery procedures.
  • Promote, explain, refer, and cross-sell other credit union services such as electronic services, credit and debit cards, accounts, and loans.
  • Receive/process consumer loan, credit card, home loan, and other payments, and ensure the payments match balances due and are accurate when posting to the system.
  • Generate/provide member receipts.
  • Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
  • Prepare, count, and package coin and currency for courier shipment.
  • Reconcile cash drawer or recycler at the end of each day by comparing the physical cash total to the computer-generated balance sheet.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies and promptly report any unresolved differences to the manager.
  • Process night drop & mail deposits/payments daily to member accounts, ensuring all information is accurately recorded in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assists in completing daily opening and closing procedures to ensure security and compliance with established polices.
  • Conduct outbound communication with existing members for follow-up, cross-sell opportunities, promotional offers, and campaign engagement.
  • Scan daily work, perform such other teller functions that might be needed from time to time, and assist others to complete tasks and work assignments.
  • Ensure teller station is properly stocked with necessary supplies to support efficient daily operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve member concerns in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal controls and established policies and procedures.
  • Complete required training curriculum as identified by management and/or Organizational Development to attain Member Service Representative title within expected time frame.
  • Comply with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
