ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES Complies with all duties as assigned to Teller I position. Examines checks deposited and determines proper funds availability based on regulation requirements and completes hold notices. Follows appropriate procedures for cashing non-customer checks as set by the Deposit Manual. Answers customer inquiries regarding service charges and interest rates while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations, and consumer privacy policies. Possesses knowledge of bank products and services and actively cross-sells services to customers to meet the bank’s overall growth goals. Proficiently retrieves statements in Director/Web Director as requested by customers. Efficiently completes TMS transfers as requested by customers after first properly identifying, whether in-person or on the phone. Operates check-processing scanners to image and balances all incoming transactions on a daily basis. Issues official checks and obtains necessary endorsements from bank officers for checks $10,000 or greater. Verifies funds are available prior to issuing. Assists with answering incoming branch phone calls and transferring calls to appropriate department. Accurately redeems savings bonds by ensuring that information and amount are correct on face of bond and redemption is completed in Integrated Teller. Recognizes when it is necessary to mail bonds to the Dept of Treasury for redemptions that are unable to be processed in the branch. Informs supervisor of important matters which must be known to effectively manage department operations. Adheres to the values of the mission statement, which in turn will prove a base of shared values for everyone who works within the organization. Follows self-development and participates in educational programs to increase skills and knowledge in policies, programs, and systems. Assists in daily dual-control functions. Develops and maintains good working knowledge of job responsibilities and procedures, which facilitates efficient performance of duties. Contributes to a favorable working climate within the organization through a friendly and cooperative attitude and exhibiting good teamwork skills. Willingly assist others as necessary to keep work current, meet deadlines and spread workload equally. Offers flexibility in covering vacations and other absences. Handles customers and outside contacts in a friendly, pleasant, professional manner, which enhances a favorable image of the organization. Refers customers to Universal Bankers, Lenders and Customer Service as needed.
