About The Position

The Teller I position at First Interstate Bank is an entry-level role responsible for performing daily teller transactions in both lobby and drive-up locations. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a cash handling role preferred.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

• Strong interpersonal skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer account services by receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, issuing savings withdrawals, and selling cashier's checks, traveler's checks, and savings bonds.
• Answer customer inquiries in person and over the phone.
• Record customer account transactions by logging cashier checks, traveler's checks, and preparing currency transaction reports.
• Cross-sell bank products by informing customers of new services and product promotions, and directing them to branch representatives as needed.
• Complete special customer requests such as closing accounts, taking orders for checks, and providing special statements and referrals.
• Reconcile cash drawer by counting and packaging currency and coins, and maintaining a supply of cash and currency.
• Comply with bank operations and security procedures by participating in dual-control functions and maintaining customer traffic surveys.
• Maintain customer confidence by keeping information confidential and cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
• Improve teller job knowledge by attending training sessions.
• Contribute to customer service and bank success by welcoming new requests and helping others accomplish job results.
