Join our team in a 39-bed Medical Surgical unit where you will provide
compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of Registered Nurses
(RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants
(CNAs). With a 1:6 nurse to patient ratio, you will play a crucial role in
assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and ensuring patient comfort
and safety. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative

care facility, including orthopedics, cardiology, general surgery, women’s care,
and emergency medicine, as well as sports medicine, physical therapy, imaging
and laboratory services, and many other areas of subspecialty care.

TN, are just 50 miles away and Atlanta, GA is 150 miles from Sylva.

Requirements

• Applicants should have a current listing EMT, EMT-P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA, and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Required; Completion of Cardiac Telemetry Certification within 1 year of hire; Evidence of successful completion of Telemetry/Dysrhythmia course
• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Licenses: EMT, EMT-P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Telemetry Tech ONLY: Completion of a basic telemetry monitoring course and/or completion of competency training for basic arrhythmia interpretation may be required as determined by the department director.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred or completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing Degree Program (ADN or BSN).

Responsibilities

• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
• Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.
