About The Position
A healthcare facility in New York is seeking a Telemetry Technician responsible for continuous cardiac monitoring and advanced ECG analysis to support patient safety and clinical decision-making. This role requires accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms, timely identification of life-threatening arrhythmias, and effective communication with clinical teams in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- BLS Certification (AHA or Red Cross – issued within the last year)
- Completion of a Dysrhythmia Course (Required)
Responsibilities
- Perform continuous ECG/EKG monitoring and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
- Analyze ECG strips and promptly identify potentially life-threatening rhythm changes
- Initiate and assist with codes; document cardiac rhythms during emergency events
- Perform electrocardiograms with correct electrode placement across care settings
- Troubleshoot telemetry and monitoring equipment; respond appropriately to alarms
- Communicate clearly with charge nurses, physicians, and other healthcare staff
- Enter and verify physician orders in the electronic medical record system
- Retrieve laboratory results and promptly report critical values
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with organizational policies
- Safely operate and manage telemetry and medical monitoring equipment
