Opportunity to serve in Emergency Services as a supervisor over an assigned shift consisting of four to six Telecommunicators while operating an enhanced 911 emergency system in receiving and dispatching emergency calls. An employee in this class is responsible for serving as a supervisor in the operation of an enhanced 911 emergency system involving a network of complex equipment. Positions are involved in receiving and dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls. Duties include dispatching appropriate fire and EMS personnel and equipment, providing pre-arrival instructions to callers. Good judgement is required in making decisions, this person must also respond calmly and effectively during emergency situations. A person working at this capacity completes daily shift reports for review by the Communications Training Officer or E911 Systems Manager.
