About The Position

The Telecommunications Technician supports installation of low-voltage telecommunications infrastructure in support of U.S. Government contract requirements. The technician will be guided in performing structured cabling, and equipment installation, in accordance with industry standards, safety regulations, and contract specifications. This role requires a strong work ethic, physical capability, and attention to detail, as technicians routinely lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, work in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces, and operate in varying weather conditions. This position is onsite on the Colorado Springs, CO area. As a federal contractor, CNI is a drug-free workplace and adheres to the Federal Controlled Substance Act. Color vision is required to distinguish between different cabling colors Prior hands-on experience in low-voltage wiring, home theater installation, IT support, or electrical assistance are strongly encouraged to apply, as this experience accelerates on-the-job proficiency and reinforces safe tool usage and installation practices. Because technicians serve as a direct representative of the company to clients, strong communication skills and prior customer-facing experience are valuable. Professionalism, courtesy, and the ability to clearly explain technical work to customers are critical components of success in this role. Requirements

  • Must possess a current and active SECRECT security clearance.
  • Color vision is required to distinguish between different cabling colors
  • High school diploma or related military experience, trade/industrial school graduate or GED equivalent and professional experience related to the field.

  • Prior hands-on experience in low-voltage wiring, home theater installation, IT support, or electrical assistance are strongly encouraged to apply, as this experience accelerates on-the-job proficiency and reinforces safe tool usage and installation practices.
  • Because technicians serve as a direct representative of the company to clients, strong communication skills and prior customer-facing experience are valuable.
  • An associate degree or certification from a technical/vocational school in electronics, networking or a related field is valued.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates hands-on skills and familiarity with industry standard tools and safety procedures.
  • Will be required to lift, pull, transfer, tug, align, secure and maneuver long length network cabling through flooring, walls, tight spaces, and other rooms and computer equipment.
  • Wear of composite toe / steel-toe boots required.
  • Use of OSHA-approved safety equipment may be required as needed.
  • Support for installation of low-voltage wiring, audio visual cabling and networking communications.
