About The Position

The (USA) Technician, Telecommunications plays a critical role in supporting the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of telecommunications and cabling systems across Walmart facilities. This position ensures compliance with technical codes and standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize network reliability and availability. The technician conducts quality assurance inspections, provides hands-on training, and advises leadership on project progress and technical solutions. About the team: Our team consists of skilled technicians organized into specialized groups, with two focused on low voltage cabling installations. They ensure all remodel and new construction projects comply with local codes and standards. The team applies precision, expertise, and efficiency to every assignment, supporting the development and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure. Collaborating closely, they uphold quality and safety standards while meeting project timelines. Their combined efforts contribute to reliable network systems that support business operations effectively and consistently. What you'll do... Oversee telecommunications installation projects, coordinating with construction and planning teams to meet timelines and quality standards. Conduct wireless surveys and validate connectivity to ensure reliable network performance, adjusting system components as necessary. Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to install, repair, and upgrade cabling and telecommunication systems in compliance with technical codes and regulations. Inspect supplier installations for contract compliance, quality assurance checks, and report issues for timely resolution. Provide onsite training and support to technicians on safety, troubleshooting, and network operations. Advise leadership on technology improvements and ensure availability of project materials. Maintain adherence to regulatory codes by liaising with inspectors and managing corrective actions. What you'll bring: Proven experience with telecommunications networks, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network switches and networking hardware. Proficiency in structured cabling, wire and cable pulling, and patch panel installation adhering to technical codes and standards. Ability to conduct wireless surveys, validate connectivity, and adjust system components to ensure network reliability. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to telecommunications and cabling infrastructure. Effective collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers. Commitment to quality assurance, safety protocols, and timely project completion. The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00 - $40.00 The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
