Under the general supervision of the Telecommunications Systems Operations Supervisor I, the Telecommunications Systems Technician II (TST II) is responsible for responding to and resolving public safety communications problems for State Agency clients. The TST II will also functionally report to the assigned shop lead as required. The duties are performed by following FCC rules and regulations, utilizing at a minimum, office-provided training, complex test equipment, computers, hand tools, the Telecommunications Division Manual (TDM), and technical literature. Incumbent will communicate effectively on all written and verbal interactions, frequently interfacing with customers and co-workers to resolve issues and collaborate. The TST II will maintain a professional and team-centered environment by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Incumbent will work proficiently with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, and Excel. Travel to and working in remote locations, high elevations, and inclement weather conditions may be required.

Requirements

  • Valid California Driver's License (CDL).
  • Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
  • Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
  • LCC License.
  • FCC General Radiotelephone Operator's License or industry accepted equivalent
