About The Position

TELECOMMUNICATIONS MECHANIC II (PSTS-2025-23876): Bowhead seeks a Telecommunications Mechanic II to provide Base Telecom Support at the Puget Sound, WA. The Telecom Mechanic effort will provide telecommunications operations and maintenance (O&M). This includes secure and reliable, classified and unclassified, voice and data services in support of Command, Control, Computer, Communications and Information (C4I) operations and exercises. Responsibilities Essential functions will include: Operate and maintain government-owned telephony switches (PBX) , including: Avaya Systems CM4.0 Perform: Troubleshooting and repair of switch issues Software updates and patching Installation and configuration of switch hardware Daily operation monitoring Support for voicemail systems and IPE (Remote Intelligent Peripheral Equipment) Utilize company vehicle to travel to remote locations weekly. Ensure switch systems remain fully operational and compliant with DoD/Navy standards. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher in IT or Cybersecurity (preferred)
  • 2 years of experience required. 5 years preferred.
  • Prior experience within DoD networks.
  • Avaya Certified Support Specialist (ACSS) or equivalent
  • Nortel Meridian System Administration or equivalent
  • IAT Level II (per DoD 8570.01-M)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or equivalent
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
  • Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.
  • US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
