About The Position

Under the direction of the Telecommunications Electrician Foreman, plans layout and wiring of any array of various telecommunications systems and equipment. Installs, repairs, modifies, and rearranges new and/or existing systems and equipment to satisfy department request for telephone and data services. Minimizes the waste of materials in providing such services and avoids unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable work consistent with established standards, specifications and local electrical codes applied to telecommunications. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Successful completion of an approved and recognized apprenticeship program pursuant to attaining Journeyman status as a Telecommunications Electrician.
Five (5) years of full-time work experience at the Journeyman level.
Valid driver’s license.
This position is considered a safety-sensitive position. Candidates who are selected to fill safety-sensitive positions must pass a required drug test as part of the pre-employment background check process.

Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States territories and Canada, must be credentialed by the World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or a National Association of Credential Evaluation (NACES) member organization.
