Requirements

  • Bachelors or equivalent in engineering.
  • Knowledge of wireless architecture, administration and maintenance.
  • 2-3 years of hands of experience
  • Hands-on experience working with Avaya enterprise-level PBX call routing.
  • Hands-on experience in scoping, planning, analysis and implementation, evaluations and /or support of new and existing wireless solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience with wireless devices.
  • Basic knowledge of Avaya hardware, nurse call systems, software and wireless concepts.
  • Wireless certification
  • Prior experience in the telecommunications field for network design and management.

Responsibilities

  • Familiar with Avaya CM and Session Manager for wireless solutions. Coordinates and manages telecom projects for wireless device deployments including executing moves, ads, changes and disconnections. Leads the coordination with IT/Telecom resources for programming devices, testing and validation of wireless network readiness for new deployments and troubleshooting of existing wireless systems. Supports the management of legacy wireless hardware including integrations with nurse call systems, moves, adds, changes, removal and/or conversion of legacy hardware and handset devices.
  • Coordinates with facility leadership, IT, corporate wireless and network resources to confirm wireless readiness, equipment procurement, deployment, training, testing and system monitoring to ensure dependable, uninterrupted operation of wireless solutions. Assists in developing implementation plans to upgrade communications systems. Responsible for documenting and communicating budgetary solution requirements for prior approval of replacement projects.
  • Assists in translation of end user needs into better wireless communication solutions. Coordinates with other departments to understand and meet their telecommunication needs.
  • Monitors preventive maintenance routines, equipment repairs and other corrective actions. Maintains a strong, productive relationship with vendors and service providers.
  • Support MAC (Moves/Add/Changes) activities for in-house systems
  • Coordinate provisioning of all wireless services and technologies and integrations with nurse call systems
  • Maintain documentation for wireless systems / devices / deployments
  • Participate and drive post-mortem investigations related to incidents and problems
  • Perform root cause analysis and determination if root cause, identify corrective action to resolve and prevent future occurrences
  • Identify and validate if corrective action if applicable to prevent future occurrences of incident
  • Create and maintain proper documentation of policies, procedures and technical papers.
  • Independently work to accomplish general tasks and projects with little direct supervision
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned deemed necessary for the business. Not limited to the above.
