About The Position

Teen Services Intern (Seasonal-Summer) Pay Grade: 1 (Non-exempt) Seasonal position from June 1, 2026 - August 7, 2026 Schedule (part-time, 15 hours a week) Mondays 9:30am-2:30pm Tuesdays 1-6pm An additional 5-hour shift will be scheduled during another weekday which will be coordinated with your supervisor Teen Services Intern Do you love the library and helping your community? Skokie Public Library is looking for a p art-time t emporary Teen Services intern during this summer to help support our volunteer program, provide input on teen events and services, and promote library services to teens. What You’ll Do Assist Teen Services librarians with tasks related to the summer volunteer program Provide input on events and services, reflecting teen perspectives Contribute to training materials and other resources Grow as a leader Gain insight into the possibilities of a future career in public service What We’re Looking For Ability to follow directions and stay on task Ability to work independently and collaboratively Experience with library volunteering Ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse workforce and community Minimum Qualifications (education, experience, and certifications): Must be at least 16 years old Basic computer skills and comfort with learning new technology Preferred Qualifications: Experience volunteering in a public library Preferred Competencies: Multilingual skills in English plus another language(s) relevant to the Skokie community Skokie Public Library offers : An opportunity to work in a collaborative and compassionate environment alongside talented colleagues in service to a diverse, vibrant community.
