About The Position

Our Teen Program Director will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the programs and services to teens (13–18 years of age) and to promote/recruit program participation. In collaboration with associated Program Directors in overlapping areas, responsible for developing and structuring quality programs to achieve priority outcomes in the areas of Academic Success, College & Career Prep, Leadership and Healthy Habits. Position is 40 hours a week, Monday–Friday, and hours are 12 PM–8 PM during the school year and 8 AM–4 PM during the summer program and school vacation weeks. Teen Program Director will be required to drive club vehicles; some weekends may be required. Must have reliable transportation. Duties: Prepare Youth for Success Plan and implement the delivery of agency programs and activities that support the Club’s priority outcomes: Establish outcome area program objectives consistent with organizational goals and mission. Monitor and evaluate programs to ensure quality and align with goals; recommend improvements based on member needs. Lead daily teen programs (e.g. leadership clubs, teen nights, college/career prep) in line with standards. Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging teen space, including equipment and supplies. Encourage active member participation and skill development through guided activities and feedback. Model leadership and ensure member safety, conduct, and growth. Facilitate teen engagement with business and community leaders. Supervision Allocate and monitor work assigned to program volunteers and staff, providing ongoing feedback and regular appraisal. Identify and support training and development opportunities for assigned volunteers and staff. Maintain accurate records and reports, including daily participation breakdowns, activity and event details, notable achievements, and any issues or concerns. Partnership Development Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders and organizations. Marketing and Public Relations Increase visibility of Club programs via posting of daily schedule, announcements of upcoming events and activities. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES May oversee special programs and/or events, and/or participate in the implementation of other Clubhouse activities as necessary. May be required to fundraise in support of special program activities or field trips. May be required to periodically drive Club van. May be required to transport members or meals from local food service programs; lift up to 50 pounds. May consult with parents concerning member and Clubhouse issues. Perform light cleaning and assume other duties as assigned. Teen Program Director may also be required to be Director on Duty in the event of absent leadership. May be required to work with members between the ages of 8-12 years old. RELATIONSHIPS Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions; instruct, and advise/counsel. External: Maintain contact as needed with external community groups, schools, members’, parents and others to assist in resolving problems. ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS: All work is conducted in a Club or office setting inside or outside, travel is occasionally required. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated ability to: Maintain a high energy level and be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day to day responsibilities. Regularly required to speak clearly and hear the spoken word as well. All applicants will be required to pass a criminal offender record information check (CORI) and a national background check. Requirements

  • Four year degree in related fields from an accredited college or university is OR equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of three years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club OR similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
  • Driver's License and good driving record required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Group leadership skills including and understanding of group dynamics.
  • Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.
  • Demonstrate flexibility with program changes and requirements
  • All applicants will be required to pass a criminal offender record information check (CORI) and a national background check.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certifications, preferred.
