About The Position

The Teen Collective Program is an enriching, paid opportunity for high school students across Palm Beach County to explore how museums engage diverse communities and foster cultural connections through art. Participants collaborate closely with museum staff, curators, and teaching and visiting artists while gaining hands-on experience in museum operations and public programming. Teen Collective members play an active role in shaping museum experience for visitors through creative projects, discussions, and interactive events

Requirements

  • Be a high school student (ages 16–18) in Palm Beach County.
  • Be at least 16 years old by the start of the program
  • Commit to weekly in-person sessions on Fridays from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM
  • Fall Session: September 11 – December 11, 2026
  • Spring Session: January 8 – April 16, 2027
  • Participate in additional community events and field trips
  • Submit a signed parent/guardian waiver for field trips
  • Maintain consistent attendance (maximum of three absences)
  • Returning applicants (sophomores and juniors) are welcome

Responsibilities

  • Develop public speaking skills by leading discussions, tours, and presentations for diverse audiences
  • Gain experience teaching and facilitating classes and workshops, both on-site at the museum and off-site in the community
  • Collaborate with museum staff and artists on program development and event execution
  • Assist in designing and leading teen-focused events and public programs
  • Participate in spotlight tours, workshops, and community outreach initiatives
  • Engage with museum exhibitions and collections through guided learning experiences
  • Build professional skills in communication, teamwork, leadership, and creativity
