About The Position

The Technology Support Specialist is responsible for supporting agency hardware, systems software, and application portfolios. This role includes maintaining data dictionaries, installing and upgrading equipment and software, supporting data conversions, managing system utilities and change control, and coordinating problem resolution with internal and external support teams. The specialist serves as a key point of contact for technical troubleshooting and end-user support.

Requirements

  • Strong ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and application issues
  • Experience working with network rooms and related infrastructure
  • Understanding of network operating systems
  • Familiarity with IT service management concepts and practices (e.g., ITIL framework)
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on non-technical end users
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, phone-intensive environment
  • Self-motivated, dependable, courteous, and reliable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and required motor vehicle insurance

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certifications such as MOS, MTA, MCP, A+, MCITP, or similar
  • General understanding of network operating systems

Responsibilities

  • Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot defective hardware and equipment
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve software and application-related issues
  • Determine and resolve hardware issues prior to deployment
  • Install, configure, and upgrade hardware and software
  • Maintain system documentation, including data dictionaries and inventories
  • Support data conversions and system utilities
  • Follow change control procedures
  • Coordinate issue resolution and escalate to appropriate support teams when needed
  • Provide high-quality technical support to end users at all organizational levels
