MS Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology is the global technology department responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) business. The department is comprised of 10 organizations: Sales, Banking & Corporate-Client Technology, Investment Products & Markets Technology, Client Reporting, Core Processing, Private and International Wealth Management Technology, Technology Integration Office, Enterprise Infrastructure & Production Management, Capital Markets Application & Data Services, Deployment Planning & Release Management, and the Chief Operating Office. Department Profile Wealth Managements Core Platform Services provides horizontal services to all Wealth management Development Teams. Our mission is to provide stable and scalable infrastructure and technology solutions for entire Wealth Management. We serve as a centralized interface through which Wealth Management teams can obtain infrastructure solutions and project support by working closely with application owners throughout the SDLC process to ensure that established products/services are leveraged, and new requirements are fulfilled. Position Description We’re seeking someone to join our team as Technology Support Engineer within TOC team. The Technology Operation team plays a critical role in ensuring the stability and performance of all production environments, including platforms such as Apigee, SOLR, KAFKA, and Redis. As part of our responsibilities, we are dedicated to handling and resolving application and platform infrastructure issues as they arise. This involves monitoring the health and status of systems, identifying and troubleshooting issues promptly, and implementing effective solutions to restore and enhance platform functionality. Our team is also involved in enhancing and creating new tools and scripts to automate existing processes, thereby contributing to a more efficient and resilient operational environment. Through active collaboration with application owners and other stakeholders, we ensure that infrastructure solutions are leveraged optimally and that any new requirements are addressed efficiently. Our commitment to high-velocity recovery and innovation enables us to maintain robust production environments and support Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s business objectives. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player committed to delivering on time and should be able to work with and without or minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in managing Apigee platforms ( On Prem and GCP)
  • 5+ years in supporting large Infrastructure and applications environment.
  • Hands-on experience on Linux environment
  • Good experience with Apigee, Zookeeper, Cassandra Setup, and administration/support.
  • Understanding of cloud-based architecture, middleware technologies like IIS/Tomcat/Apache.
  • Experience with OpenShift (Kubernetes)
  • Programming and scripting of operational administration tasks using python /Unix Shell script etc
  • Experience with networking principles and technologies (DNS, Load Balancers, Proxies, firewalls etc)
  • Good knowledge of Certificate Setup and Administration.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in Java, analyze thread, heap TCP dumps.
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting skills relevant to debug issues and provide tactical and strategic solutions around the same.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Wealth Management or a similar financial environment
  • Experience in working on Cloud native architecture
  • Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture
  • Familiarity with cloud-based architecture, middleware technologies like IIS/Tomcat/Apache.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools/ CI CD Process (GIT HUB/ Jenkins).

Responsibilities

  • Managing the day to day operational and Projects tasks within the Technology Operation team.
  • Handling and resolving Application and platform infrastructure issues
  • Managing Major Incidents to Mitigation/Resolution.
  • Provide inputs and resolve issues escalated by team and other partners.
  • Supported large technology projects, hygiene activities, upgrades, rollouts at scale, onboarding of new technologies, and automation support.
  • Actively provide data for and participate in root cause analysis.
  • Proactively identify problems, suggest fixes, and work towards ultimate resolution
  • Work on automating complex tasks with different tools, scripts, and solutions.
  • Author and Review KBA document for team.
  • Submit and track changes in Jira, follow-ups, and closures.
  • Strive for continuous improvement and make recommendations.
