About The Position

This position enables instructional and administrative support through the use of technology by implementing, maintaining and trouble-shooting computers, network and related audio/visual equipment. The essential functions include deploying, updating and maintaining district-owned desktops, laptops, tablets, smart TVs, printers, copiers and interactive panels. It also involves supporting classroom instruction and school administration with technology hardware, software and digital services. The role provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 Troubleshooting for technology problems (hardware, software, networks, etc.) and collaborates directly with building techs, district A/V tech, district based technology staff and instructional technology coaches regularly to support technology. Customer service is provided to staff and students through onsite drop-ins, support ticketing system and direct messages. The specialist assists with onboarding new staff and students at the start and mid-school year, maintains cybersecurity and IT policies with a diverse population of students and staff, and supports user account creation and management in various systems. Primary support for the 1:1 student iPad program, including imaging and deployment through Jamf Management System, is also a key function. The role implements district software and cybersecurity standards, maintains and cleans all technology equipment, researches and stays current with technology trends, maintains hardware inventory and software licenses, and serves on technology-related committees as requested. Additionally, the position provides opportunities for students to lead.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree
  • 3-5 years work experience
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, other employees, and/or students.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, managers, staff, clients, customers, and/or the general public.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to develop relationships and connections with a diverse population of staff, students, public and administration.

  • Ability to anticipate and plan for a variety of seasonal based projects (Ex. staff onboarding\changes, state\classroom assessments, inventory, prepping building for breaks\leaves).
  • Knowledge and experience with Multiple operating systems (Ex. Windows 10/11, Mac OS X, iOS, Android).
  • Knowledge and experience with Mobile device management (JAMF, InTune, Destiny, Snipe-It).
  • Knowledge and experience with Interactive Panel management (Promethean, Radix).
  • Knowledge and experience with Copier/Printer management (Canon, HP, Printopia, PrinterLogic).
  • Knowledge and experience with TCP/IP network troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge and experience with Cabling standards.
  • Knowledge and experience with Wireless networks.
  • Knowledge and experience with Google Workspace.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Knowledge and experience with Hardware repair and installation.
  • Knowledge and experience with Software installation and standardization.
  • Knowledge and experience with Troubleshooting above listed areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary support for 1:1 student iPad program, including imaging and deployment through Jamf Management System.
  • Implement district software and cybersecurity standards including supporting client based EDR\Malware applications and content filtering.
  • Maintain and clean all technology equipment.
  • Research and stay current with technology trends to best meet the district's current and future needs.
  • Maintain hardware inventory and software licenses.
  • Serve on committees relating to technology as requested.
  • Provide opportunities for students to lead.
  • Supervise student assistants.
