About The Position

Suburban Enterprises is looking for a Technology Services Estimator to join its Estimating & Design team. This team plays a critical role in providing knowledge of costs and benefits to support profitable business decisions. The ideal candidate should possess excellent numerical skills, an analytical mindset, be thorough, and adept at managing relationships with key internal and external clients (contractors, companies, and Suburban Enterprises Team Members and Departments). Estimators are responsible for fostering long-term relationships, evaluating risks or potential delays, and ensuring projects can be completed within client timeframes and budget.

Requirements

  • 3 years of related low voltage construction experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Knowledge of code, municipal permitting, and licensing requirements.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • You must possess the ability to work within scheduled deadlines.
  • Strong computer proficiency and trouble-shooting skills, especially with Microsoft Office programs, the Internet and estimating software.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical Industry Certifications (NICET, BICSI)
  • 1-3 years of technical field experience.

Responsibilities

  • Have the ability to estimate anything from small service work, service contract, or project work.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare estimates with a high level of accuracy.
  • Maintain detailed files of working documentation to support estimates.
  • Attend site visits for proposed projects; take accurate notes such as ceiling height, level of difficulty, distances and overall conditions which affect installation and bid take-off.
  • Work consistently within the estimating process; calendar invite, bid checklist, pre-bid meeting, estimate production, proposal methodology, bid review, delivery, and CRM tracking.
  • Work under deadline pressures in an efficient, composed, and calm manner.
