Your Opportunity The Practice Lead for the North Central and South Region Technology Service requires a client facing professional with extensive engineering and business development know-how and a track record of results. The Practice Lead will work closely with the Technology Operations Lead to maintain the vision and strategy of the Business Unit and support team development. The Practice Lead reports to the Specialty Services Business Center (BCSS) Practice Lead and will leverage their industry contacts to foster revenue growth, strengthen and manage our client base, and serve as thought leader both internally and to external clients. The Practice Lead will also work with other Practice Leads, market Sector Leaders, Team Leaders and Project Managers to establish new business, maintain current accounts, review proposals and pricing, and provide project teams with technical or client oversight. Candidate based in Chicago or willing to relocate to Chicago is preferred.

Requirements

  • The ability to work in tandem with the Technology Operations Lead is a must.
  • Possesses strong written and presentation skills to convey technical and business concepts to varied audiences and decision makers articulate ideas and solutions clearly when dealing with complex and uncertain situations.
  • Keenly aware of client's business development and operational relationships.
  • Owns business development, marketing, and client/employee relations skills.
  • Sound industry network and noteworthy reputation in the industry.
  • Maintains strong critical/analytical thinking skills; able to create, convey and deploy engineering and business strategies and problem solve.
  • Possesses knowledge of ICT, Security, Audio Visual design principles and best practices and general understanding of other disciplines as they relate to Technology Design.
  • Displays effective organization and time management skills with projects, reports and other duties effectively manages multiple priorities and is punctual and dependable.
  • Accredited BS or master's degree required; engineering degrees are preferred.
  • Relevant Licensure or professional certification based on expertise required.
  • 15+ years Technology consulting specifying engineering experience with knowledge and leadership managing design projects and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with the Technology National Discipline Leader on large scale or national pursuits.
  • Coordinate with the BCPL, BCOL, and the Regional Operations Leader to establish sales and profitability goals.
  • Grows market segment and achieves sales, outreach, revenue and profitability goals.
  • Leads and supports client development and pursues and executes strategic engineering/consulting projects.
  • Partners with business units and corporate marketing to manage marketing and business development efforts.
  • Actively participates in client and industry events to promote Stantec brand and maintain standing as a thought leader.
  • Help prepare, review, and approve RFP content and pricing.
  • Partners with the Operations Director to develop operation plans to identify revenue, profitability, utilization, resources and goals for the Business Unit.
  • Meets or exceeds utilization goals and adheres to project budget.
  • Develops understanding of Stantec's accounting and project management systems.
