About The Position

At the Middle School of Plainville , we are committed to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment for all of our students. We are seeking a dedicated individual to inspire and foster competencies in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) fields. The selected educator will provide robust, hands-on learning, engaging students in a variety of STEM-focused career experiences in the areas of safety, carpentry, manufacturing design, material processing and robotics utilizing the engineering design process. We seek an educator who is flexible, innovative, collaborative, and forward-thinking. The current classroom environment includes a fully-equipped fabrication lab and a computer lab with a robust robotics inventory. The upcoming renovation project will result in a completely modern, state of the art STEM area.

Requirements

• Certification by the State of Connecticut for Technology Education (047) prior to the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
• Strong knowledge of the ITEEA Technology Standards and ISTE Standards.
• Demonstrated interest and aptitude for working with middle school students of all skill levels and abilities.
• Knowledge of safety protocols for course-specific equipment.
• Experience with engineering, manufacturing, material processing and robotics.
• Middle School of Plainville Connecticut Educator certification #047 is required prior to the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
