This position is based in Plano, TX. Who we’re looking for At TFS, we’re embarking on a technology transformation journey, creating next generation products and platforms. These products enable TFS to provide a best-in-class experience to our customers and partners and position us to rapidly scale to realize our vision of mobility for all by enabling freedom of movement for everyone. We are seeking a Director, Software Engineering, to serve as the Technology Domain Owner (TDO). What you’ll be doing The Technology Domain Owner plays a pivotal role in overseeing all technology-related initiatives within the specific domain. The TDO will develop and execute the domain's technology strategy, ensuring alignment with our overarching business objectives, and lead multiple teams. Leveraging their technical expertise, the TDO will innovate and deliver impactful business outcomes. Additionally, strong influencing skills are essential for shaping strategy and fostering partnerships both internally and externally. The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong technical expertise in full stack engineering, operational excellence, applications security and public cloud technologies

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a Technology, Software Engineering or a related field.
15+ years of engineering experience developing global customer-facing products, with 7+ years of management expertise.
Proven experience in building large-scale customer experience (CX) and distributed multi-tenant high-availability platforms, as well as developing applications on both public cloud and on-premise platforms.
Strong understanding of the Product Lifecycle and partnering with product leaders to develop the product strategy and customer experience.
Strong technical background with hands-on experience in object-oriented programming, Java script frameworks, architecture, design patterns, Restful API development, and CX engineering.
Experience working effectively in a fast-paced environment, leveraging agile methodologies, collaborating with diverse teams including UX, product management, architecture, and infrastructure to develop high-quality solutions.
Proven track record of rapidly recruiting top talent, leading and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree.
Experience working in the insurance, financial and/or banking industry.
Experience leading engineering teams in product-driven companies, with a focus on delivering SDKs, customer experience (CX) frameworks, and SaaS products.
Experience in machine learning and GenAI.
Solution Architecture experience on public cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.

Own and drive key initiatives across our full software stack - from customer-facing features to backend data
Build a lean and nimble tech stack that enables launch of our products at global scale
Break down complex challenges, simplify problems, overcome roadblocks, and drive results
Collaborate closely with Product and Enterprise leaders to develop long term domain technology strategies for your org
You will lead design, user experience, platform integrations, availability, performance, scalability.
Build engineering best practices, processes and mechanisms
Develop and maintain a detailed delivery plan that encompasses all aspects of the delivery from initiation to closure.
Monitor and report on the progress of technology delivery to senior management and stakeholders, adjusting delivery plans as necessary to meet objectives
Balance big-picture thinking with the ability to quickly shift between strategic and tactical execution
Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing clear and concise updates on delivery, risks, and achievements.
Gather and incorporate stakeholder feedback to ensure technology solutions meet business needs and customer expectations
Responsible for directly hiring, retaining, and growing top managers and engineering talent within your group.
You will lead an organization with diverse skills, experience, and cultural backgrounds
You will own all aspects of talent development including performance reviews, coaching, mentoring, and promoting people
