SUMMARY: The Commercial Lending Officer is responsible for expanding the bank's commercial loan portfolio by developing new business opportunities and cultivating client relationships. They conduct in-depth credit analysis and underwrite loan applications to ensure adherence to credit policies and risk management guidelines, while designing loan structures that align with client needs and the bank’s objectives. The role also involves maintaining client relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing loan portfolio performance, preparing documentation, and collaborating with various bank departments to facilitate seamless loan processing. JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand the bank’s commercial loan portfolio. Establish and cultivate relationships with prospective clients, business owners, and community leaders. Conduct thorough credit analysis, including financial statement reviews, risk assessments, and collateral evaluations. Structure and underwrite commercial loan applications to ensure they meet the bank’s credit policies and risk management guidelines. Design and negotiate appropriate loan structures and terms to meet client needs while aligning with the bank’s objectives. Maintain and enhance relationships with existing clients by providing exceptional service and conducting periodic reviews of loan arrangements. Address and resolve client inquiries and concerns promptly. Ensure all loan transactions comply with relevant banking regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices. Stay updated on regulatory changes and adjust procedures as necessary. Monitor and manage the performance of the loan portfolio, including assessing credit quality, conducting regular reviews, and taking corrective actions as needed. Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for loan applications, approvals, and servicing. Generate reports on loan performance, portfolio status, and other relevant metrics for management review. Work closely with other bank departments, such as risk management, compliance, and operations, to ensure seamless loan processing and servicing. Stay informed about market trends, economic conditions, and industry developments that may impact commercial lending. Provide insights and recommendations to clients and management. Other duties and special projects as assigned.
