About The Position

MultiCare’s Pulse Heart Institute is a physician led institute with multi-specialty partnership with Cardiothoracic surgery, vascular and cardiovascular service lines. Our team and state-of-the-art programs create a world-class health care organization and the destination center for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular care with complex structural heart disease and interventions, advanced heart failure service as well as advanced imaging with cutting edge technologies. The Technology Director will oversee technology's strategic and operational aspects within Pulse Ventures, a leading cardiovascular platform. This role drives technology initiatives that enhance patient care, streamline business operations, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. The Technology Director will lead project management efforts, manage vendor relationships, and align technology solutions with organizational goals to support our network of ambulatory practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5 years’ experience in a technology management role, including leading teams and multiple technical environments
  • Proven expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile, or equivalent certification is a plus).
  • Strong experience in vendor negotiation and management within a healthcare IT context.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare operations, including EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth), billing software, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and process optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and oversee technology projects, including EHR (Electronic Health Record) implementations, system upgrades, and process optimizations, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Develop project timelines, allocate resources, and manage cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones.
  • Monitor project performance using KPIs and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select technology vendors and service providers to meet the organization’s operational and strategic needs.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage vendor performance, and ensure compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Foster strong partnerships with vendors to support innovative solutions and resolve issues efficiently.
