About The Position

The Technology Coordinator oversees district data systems, educational software platforms, and state reporting operations to ensure accurate, efficient, and secure management of student and staff information. This role provides leadership in aligning technology systems with instructional and administrative goals and coordinates closely with the Technology Manager to ensure smooth district-wide technology operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in educational technology, data systems, or IT management.
  • Strong understanding of student information systems and New Jersey state reporting (NJSMART/NJSLEDS, NJ Homeroom).
  • Experience managing or supporting systems such as Genesis SIS, SchoolFi, Clever, i-Ready, and other instructional platforms.
  • Experience administering Google Workspace for Education (Super Admin-level responsibilities preferred).
  • Knowledge of FERPA, COPPA, and related data privacy regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, train staff, and collaborate effectively with multiple departments.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift materials as needed for training or presentations.
  • Ability to use digital devices and presentation tools.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written English.
  • Work in typical school and office environments; occasional travel within the district as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Technology-related certifications (e.g., Google, CompTIA, Microsoft, AWS) preferred.
  • Experience administering Google Workspace for Education (Super Admin-level responsibilities preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management and integrity of all district data systems, including the student information system (Genesis) and staff database (SchoolFi).
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of state and federal reports, including NJSMART/NJSLEDS, NJ Homeroom, and all state testing rosters (NJSLA, NJGPA, DLM).
  • Collaborate with the District Testing Coordinator to ensure students are properly rostered in state assessment systems.
  • Support Human Resources, Registration, and other departments with data-driven workflows, automated onboarding/offboarding, and accurate staff assignments in district systems.
  • Develop and implement procedures to maintain data quality, compliance, and consistency across all platforms.
  • Manage integration, maintenance, and access controls for instructional platforms such as Clever, i-Ready, and other district-approved software.
  • Serve as the Google Workspace Super Administrator, overseeing organizational units, account provisioning, data security, and access management for all users.
  • Collaborate with the Technology Manager to ensure interoperability between instructional systems, network infrastructure, and device management.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools that enhance instructional delivery, operational efficiency, and system reliability.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to district and school-based staff on the effective use of Genesis, SchoolFi, Google Workspace, and other data tools.
  • Develop user guides, reference materials, and professional learning sessions to improve staff confidence and consistency in system usage.
  • Support school leadership teams in scheduling students within Genesis, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in master schedule development.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of district and school-level data reports, dashboards, and analyses to support instructional decision-making and compliance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with administrators to identify data needs and create custom reports to support school improvement planning, attendance tracking, and performance analysis.
  • Supervise and support the Computer Systems Facilitator (and additional staff as assigned).
  • Work collaboratively with the Technology Manager to ensure alignment between systems, networks, and devices.
  • Serve as a key resource to district leadership for technology-related data, reports, and compliance.
  • Communicate system updates, timelines, and technical requirements to administrators and staff.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for data management and reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with all data privacy laws and district policies.
  • Assist in technology planning, budgeting, and vendor management for software systems and data services.
  • Support business continuity efforts, including data backup and recovery processes.
