We can’t wait to meet you! As an Advanced Technologist Assistant, you will be onsite and able to perform a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, technical and patient related functions. The Advanced Technologist Assistant is responsible for assisting radiology technologists in providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, exam review, preparation for the visit, patient education, assistance with exams and procedures, and patient transporting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competency in the performance of job-related skills appropriate to his/her customer populations and departmental services.
  • Directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the patient registration.
  • Greets visitors/patients.
  • Check-in process; Check-out process; Insurance verification process; Informs patients of costs for care being provided.
  • Guides them to appropriate resources for further information.
  • Answers telephones; Relays messages
  • Sets up the imaging room to coincide with the examination being performed to include the use of proper isolations precautions when needed.
  • Provide quality customer service, explains all studies to patient in a clear manner.
  • Positions the patient, ensuring patient comfort and modesty.
  • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Prepares patients for exams by assisting with dressing and undressing, positioning patients for exams and escorting patients to and from the exam rooms.
  • Must be able to interact compassionately and effectively with people who range from healthy to critically ill.
  • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures.
  • May be required to start IVs
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
