About The Position

As a Technician , you will support photochromic lens testing by evaluating product performance metrics against requirements recommended or regulated by major standards bodies such as ISO, ANSI, and other national standards organizations across the globe. You will also support routine instrument upkeep, including scheduled maintenance, instrument calibration, and minor repairs, while contributing to laboratory testing operations, data reporting, and photochromic measurement system development. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of industry experience
  • Fluency in laboratory testing practices
  • Demonstrated good practices in quality control and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of photochemistry and coating technology

Responsibilities

  • Support photochromic lens testing, including evaluation of product performance metrics against ISO, ANSI, and other global standards
  • Perform routine instrument upkeep, including scheduled maintenance, instrument calibration, and minor repairs
  • Laboratory testing following established SOPs
  • Operate analytical equipment such as Hunter instruments and Cary spectrophotometers
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of optical techniques, including UV-Vis spectroscopy
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for mechanical and electronic systems
  • Manage end-to-end testing activities, including test entry, scheduling, execution, and data reporting for both internal and external customers
  • Support photochromic measurement system improvement, including system improvements and development of new measurement methodologies
  • Use programming skills (e.g., Python or VBA) when applicable to support testing and data processes
