About The Position

HomeSmiles is hiring Technician Trainees who want a hands-on, outdoor role where you’ll learn valuable skills in property maintenance, exterior cleaning, and preventative home care — while also learning how to engage with homeowners, identify service needs, and help grow client relationships . This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands and interacting with customers. Our technicians don’t just perform services — they educate homeowners, recommend preventative maintenance solutions, and help customers plan future services that protect their homes. We provide paid training, all necessary tools, and a clear 12-month path to leadership. If you’re mechanically inclined, reliable, and comfortable speaking with homeowners, this entry-level technician role is your first step toward a real trade career with earning potential. This is a non-construction, non-repair role. You won’t be asked to perform plumbing, electrical, roofing, or general contractor services.

Requirements

  • Comfortable working on ladders, roofs, and in outdoor conditions
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to learn power tools, water-fed poles, squeegee systems, and rotary dryer vent tools
  • Willing to learn how to clean gutters, wash windows, power wash surfaces, and complete all property maintenance services
  • Comfortable speaking with homeowners and property managers in a professional, helpful manner
  • Willing to recommend additional services when appropriate and explain their benefits
  • Coachable with a strong attention to safety and quality

Responsibilities

  • Start your day by prepping and cleaning your HomeSmiles service van, restocking tools and equipment
  • Use your mobile tablet to check your route and scheduled appointments
  • Meet with homeowners or property managers to confirm service details
  • Have clients sign Terms & Conditions prior to work
  • Identify equipment issues and troubleshoot hoses, pumps, ladders, and sprayers
  • Track and maintain tool inventory and alert team lead when replacements are needed
  • Identify additional property maintenance needs and educate homeowners on recommended services
  • Confidently explain the value of bundled and recurring maintenance services
  • Support booking of future services, bundled packages, and referral opportunities
