Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required. Technical college degree preferred. Bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience in a technical or themed environment.
  • Hands-on experience with animation, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, electronics, and networks.
  • Previous maintenance experience with rides, facilities equipment, and mechanical or electrical systems.
  • Proven ability to multitask, stay organized, and stay calm under pressure in fast-paced environments.
  • A confident, approachable leader with excellent communication, team-building, and coaching skills.
  • Highly self-motivated with energetic, positive, and inspiring leadership qualities.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in guest-centered service environments is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all building and facility maintenance to ensure a safe, efficient, and smoothly operating attraction.
  • Lead the Technician team through staffing schedules, daily direction, training, and ongoing development.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance and asset management using Facilitree software.
  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot all major systems including HVAC, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing equipment, as well as rides and themed attractions.
  • Use hands-on technical expertise to quickly solve problems and reduce downtime for rides and facilities equipment.
  • Support a wide range of technical duties including lighting work, re-lamping, painting, wall repairs, custodial oversight, F&B equipment care, and exhibit setup and takedown.
  • Coordinate all statutory equipment inspections and ensure all safety and compliance documentation is completed accurately and promptly.
  • Prioritize and execute tasks effectively while managing tight budgets and fast-paced operational needs.
  • Develop continuous improvement plans and support operational success through budgets and action planning.
  • Lead training, evaluations, and performance development while maintaining accurate records.
  • Champion a safe work environment by upholding the highest Health, Safety, and Security standards aligned with Merlin Entertainments policies.
  • Inspire and empower the team to be guest-obsessed and deliver world-class service.
  • Forecast staffing needs, build schedules, and ensure proper Technician coverage at all times.
  • Build a strong, engaged team culture through coaching, recognition, and performance programs.
  • Support additional exciting duties as needed to keep the attraction shining at its best.
