Based in our Sidney, OH location, you will work in conjunction with product and research engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVAC/R systems. To maintain our role as a global leader in compression solutions, we continually seek talented and ambitious technicians to work in our engineering laboratories. We are seeking a 1st shift apprentice technician to contribute to our growth and continued innovation.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in the HVAC/R curriculum and be eligible per the UVCC requirements for an apprenticeship program.
  • Must have basic mechanical, HVAC/R, and/or electrical/electronic skills.
  • Must have personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Have the ability to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in mechanical, HVAC/R, and/or electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair.
  • Knowledge of basic math.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and install compressors for testing purposes.
  • Follow engineering laboratory test instructions to test compressors.
  • Operate laboratory test equipment including calorimeters, mass flow stands, data acquisition systems, life test stands, and other measuring equipment used to acquire compressor performance and reliability characteristics.
  • Review test data for compliance with applicable test data standards.
  • You will be responsible for completing required tests and communicating test results with engineers.
  • Support Lab 5S program to maintain a World Class HVAC/R Lab.
  • Adhere to all lab safety procedures to achieve a "zero" total recordable rate.
