About The Position

The Stator & Assembly Technician is a hands-on manufacturing role focused on building, assembling, and testing stator subassemblies, while also supporting electrical and battery-related operations across the production floor. The primary responsibility is stator work, with additional tasks in electrical harnessing, battery assembly, and troubleshooting. The role involves direct collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Test teams during prototype, pilot, and early production stages. Candidates should have a strong interest in precision assembly and electromechanical systems and enjoy solving real-time build issues in a scaling production environment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in stator, motor/generator, or electromechanical assembly
  • Strong mechanical skills with tools (torque, hand, and power tools)
  • Able to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and follow work instructions
  • Precision-focused with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in fast-paced production or pilot settings
  • Comfortable working with electrical systems (HV training provided)
  • Basic computer literacy
  • High attention to detail
  • Mechanical/electrical troubleshooting
  • Commitment to safety and PPE compliance
  • Team-player, comfortable with cross-functional tasks
  • Adaptable and open to evolving responsibilities
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds.
  • Ability to travel, as needed, by plane, automobile, etc.
  • Onsite manufacturing or engineering lab setting
  • Standing, repetitive motion, and tool use required
  • Overtime may be necessary depending on production demands
  • We are not accepting candidates who require sponsorship for this position at this time.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in stator manufacturing, coil winding, or motor/generator work
  • Experience in battery or electrical subassemblies (EV, aerospace, industrial, etc.)
  • Familiarity with multimeters, insulation testers, and torque analyzers
  • Experience with R&D, pilot builds, or early-stage production
  • Relevant training/certifications such as: IPC/WHMA-A-620 High-Voltage Safety (Lv. 1–3) ESD or electrical safety
  • Understanding of Lean and 5S principles

Responsibilities

  • Assemble stator subassemblies including laminations, windings, coils, insulation, and structural components using drawings and instructions
  • Perform coil winding, bonding, adhesive application, curing, and final stator assembly
  • Install hardware, torque fasteners, and complete mechanical fit-up of stator parts
  • Operate equipment such as winding machines, presses, welding tools, injection and curing systems, and test fixtures
  • Conduct quality checks, including visual, dimensional, and basic electrical inspections
  • Support end-of-line stator testing: continuity checks, insulation resistance, and documentation
  • Identify and escalate issues, defects, or process gaps
  • Handle electrical tasks such as harnessing, cable routing, terminations, connector installations, and grounding
  • Support battery module and subassembly assembly (fastening, insulation, connections)
  • Install components like sensors, harnesses, busbars, and comms lines
  • Assist with high-voltage tasks (training provided)
  • Use multimeters and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting
  • Perform continuity, insulation resistance, and basic functional testing
  • Support battery/electrical subassembly tests (Hi-Pot, IR, leak checks, visual inspection)
  • Troubleshoot build issues and assist in root cause analysis
  • Log test results and report out-of-spec conditions
  • Follow standardized work procedures, travelers, control plans, and safety protocols
  • Complete documentation such as serial logs, quality checklists, and production records
  • Support pilot builds, trials, and engineering change implementations
  • Offer feedback to improve tooling, workflow, and quality processes
  • Keep workstations clean and organized per 5S principles
