This occupation performs various tasks required to support the Assembly, Test, and Operations (ATLO) of spacecraft. Summary of Key Duties for this position: Fabricate, assemble, and test complex assemblies/subsystems and spacecraft systems. Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ground support equipment. Fabricate ground and flight harnesses and perform continuity and other in-process checks using appropriate equipment and procedures. Inventory and inspect parts for compliance with work instructions and other documentation. Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Assemble detailed parts, mechanisms, subsystems, and components into an end product following work instructions. Align, fit, and assemble parts using hand tools and fixtures. Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate the performance of parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions and record results. Support spacecraft assembly, subsystem test, environmental test, pack & ship operations, and off-site processing. Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve problems. Create and work in a team environment while implementing Continuous Process Improvement. Be able to give/take work direction to/from team members.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI w/poly.
  • Highly motivated Technician to build, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair flight hardware, including electrical/mechanical ground support equipment.
  • Experience working with test and measurement equipment (i.e., multi-meters, scales, torque wrenches).
  • Able to read and work from schematics, engineering drawings, wiring lists, sketches, wiring connection lists, and other information and documentation.
  • Able to work shift work and weekend work as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with mechanical fabrication, assembly, and precision machining (hand tools, fixtures, torque wrenches)
  • Experience building, testing, and troubleshooting ground‑support and flight hardware
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and work instructions
  • Familiarity with test & measurement equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems, environmental test rigs)
  • Skill in fabricating and verifying ground‑ and flight‑harnesses (continuity checks, harness routing)
  • Use of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, DMM, laser trackers) to verify dimensions and clearances.
  • Knowledge of electronics, electromechanics, optics, and basic hardware diagnostics.
  • Strong attention to detail for part inspection and compliance verification
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and record test results in prescribed formats
  • Experience with Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) techniques and applying corrective actions
  • Familiarity with configuration management and inventory control procedures
  • Effective troubleshooting methodology to isolate and resolve hardware issues
  • Ability to work closely with engineers, peers, and cross‑functional teams to define problems and develop solutions
  • Comfortable giving and receiving work direction in a team environment
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance (or eligibility)
  • Understanding of safety protocols for handling high‑voltage, hazardous materials, and aerospace hardware
  • Commitment to maintaining a secure work environment
  • Highly motivated, self‑starter with a strong work ethic
  • Adaptable to shift work, weekend assignments, and off‑site processing as needed
  • Excellent manual dexterity and spatial awareness
  • Strong communication skills—both written (reports, logs) and verbal

  • High School diploma/GED plus specialized technical training (associate‑level or equivalent) (3 years) in aerospace/defense assembly, test, or maintenance environments.
