About The Position

Responsible for the highly skilled, discipline specific, technical operations of Show Control/Show Systems within Universal Horror Unleashed (UHU). Completes installations, routine maintenance and repairs as assigned to ensure show quality and positive guest experience. Ensures safety of self, guests, and other Team Members by taking proper safety precautions, following both state and company specific standards. Provides installations, show control modifications, and re-programming for the assistance for any Entertainment set and design changes for the operation, seasonal offerings, and special events, ensuring proper installation from a safety and design perspective.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Medialon, Q-SYS, Arduino, and Raspberry PI Programming.
  • Experience in computer networking, infrastructure, and troubleshooting systems.
  • Strong Problem-Solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
  • Any required local and state certifications including OSHA 10 and Q-SYS Level 1.
  • Must be able to obtain Non-Gaming work card upon employment.
  • 3+ years of show controls/show systems experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Q-SYS Level 2 VisionSuite Certification is preferred.
  • Associate’s degree in related field is preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience within the professional entertainment or themed entertainment industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as key Show Controls/Show Systems technical expert for Universal Horror Unleashed. Installs, operates, and maintains show control and show system technology and equipment as designed. Completes routine maintenance on all show control and show systems equipment to ensure safety standards and proper daily operation. Supports show control modifications and re-programming efforts in partnership with Entertainment for maintaining the creative intent and integration of new concepts/designs.
  • Performs routine inspections and preventative measures including but not limited to file and show systems equipment checks and testing, archiving and backing up show files, installation and maintenance reviews of software updates, and leading calibration or replacement of Show Control components as needed on the UHU Show Control Systems. These show control systems include Medialon, Q-SYS, Arduino, Raspberry PI and Networked systems (audio, lighting, video), and more which require continuous inspections to ensure an efficient operation.
  • Troubleshoots system failures and provide immediate and long-term corrective actions that will improve operation reliability and safety. Involves researching solutions for defective components and instructional information to complete the repair process when required. This entails logical extensive troubleshooting, referencing of technical drawings/manuals and specifications and tracking history of past failures and solutions.
  • Assists in implementing show quality and performance standards as defined by Entertainment and Technical Management. Provides data entry into a logged tracking system including inspections, corrective actions, and/or repairs made while listing parts required and utilized to maintain accuracy of usage.
  • Responsible for effectively communicating necessary information, pertaining to the technical operation of UHU to both upper management and affected Team Members. Completes necessary reporting through the proper systems including Maximo to ensure effective communication between shifts as well as with Technical Management and Technical Coordinators.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of Q-SYS and other Entertainment show systems, staying up to date with industry standards, tools, technologies to find more efficient ways to operate and high show quality. Completes all state and company mandated training and maintains any required license renewals.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
